National Geographic is featuring the Havukkavaara ICCA as a part of their story on biodiversity and traditional communities. The online article can be found here. The creation of a CCA site points that “Havukkavaara is an example of a new style of community-based conservation that includes culture, history, and people to help sustain traditional lifeways and conserve the last vestiges of the old-growth forests south of the Arctic Circle in Finland.”
